Location: Kooser Elementary School, 7301 N. 13th
We could use help with running carnival games, face painting, bounce houses, etc. We have the event divided into ½ hour or 1 hour time-slots, but we would love it if the students could help us out for as many shifts as they are available.
We do have a sign up form that they can access directly, or they are welcome to email me and I can put them down on the form.

Though, it’s true you need to start preparing for college, it’s hard to know what steps to take to get there. And, you don’t always have enough time or options available to explore different careers.
Camp experience
What is the health care field? Some think the health care field is made up of only doctors and nurses...But did you know that there are more than just those professionals that keep a hospital running?
Through this week-long camp at Bryan College of Health Sciences you will learn not only about health careers but see what health care professionals do by participating in hands-on experiences.
Get involved
To participate students must:
• Be a high school student age 16 or older.
• Be interested in a health career and enjoy science classes.
• Be able to attend the entire weeklong camp.
• Apply by May 2nd.

• Complete and return application with $350
Camp tuition by April 24.
• Camp applications are available at

• Qualified applicants will be accepted on a first come,
first served basis. All applicants will be notified regarding
acceptance into the camp.

BECOME A VET CAMP ASSISTANT!
Oxbow Animal Health is a growing manufacturer and global distributor of premium nutritional foods and supplements for small animals. We are currently seeking individuals to assist in our summer education Youth Veterinarian Camps as a Camp Assistant. Assistants will be responsible for supporting camp counselors and the Camp Direction in all aspects of the week-long camps and will have direct interaction with groups of children ages 8-14. Camp season runs from June to early August and there are assistant positions available in several camp locations in the Omaha and Lincoln area. Depending on availability and qualifications, indivduals may have the opportunity to support one or more camp locations.

Naval Academy Summer Seminar
The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar is a fast-paced, six-day experience for high achievers who have completed their junior year in high school. Summer Seminar teaches students about life at the Naval Academy, where academics, athletics, and professional training play equally important roles in developing our nation's leaders. Students who are interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation's service academies and serving the country as an officer, are encouraged to apply for the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar. Some scholarships are available for tuition and travel on a financial-need basis. Students may inquire after selection.

USNA Summer STEM is designed to spark and cultivate interest in the many academic disciplines which make up science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Open to rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders, Summer STEM is led by USNA faculty and currently enrolled midshipmen and is a great fit for students looking to broaden their understanding of STEM study and careers. Career Explorations Workshop
June 5–June 11, 2016
This workshop, developed for high school students, provides a unique experience to investigate issues surrounding design and learn more about the design professions of architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design. The workshop provides learning opportunities in the form of design studio explorations, seminars, discussions, field trips, and video presentations. The central focus of the workshop is a design studio where design issues are explored and creative energies are nurtured. As part of the workshop, students will visit professional offices, learn about various career opportunities, and develop fundamental skills necessary for the study of design.
Discover Landscape Architecture Workshop
June 12–June 17, 2016
Landscape Architecture is "art and practice of designing the outdoor environment." Landscape architects collaborate with communities, architects, and engineers to design campuses, parks, gardens, cities, and large-scale land planning projects. To learn more about the profession, visit the website of the American Society of Landscape Architects website. This workshop provides high school students with a unique experience to explore issues surrounding and relevant to Landscape Architecture. The workshop includes field trips, classroom discussions, and model/sketch landscape creations. As part of the workshop, students will visit professional offices and travel to various designed landscapes such as Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo, Nebraska's Centennial Mall and Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park to name a few. In addition, students will also explore preserved and enhanced natural landscapes such as the Elkhorn River, Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, and the Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center. Here, the world is your canvas.
