We could use help with running carnival games, face painting, bounce houses, etc. We have the event divided into ½ hour or 1 hour time-slots, but we would love it if the students could help us out for as many shifts as they are available.

Oxbow Animal Health is a growing manufacturer and global distributor of premium nutritional foods and supplements for small animals. We are currently seeking individuals to assist in our summer education Youth Veterinarian Camps as a Camp Assistant. Assistants will be responsible for supporting camp counselors and the Camp Direction in all aspects of the week-long camps and will have direct interaction with groups of children ages 8-14. Camp season runs from June to early August and there are assistant positions available in several camp locations in the Omaha and Lincoln area. Depending on availability and qualifications, indivduals may have the opportunity to support one or more camp locations.

Quilters, Crocheters, Knitters
- Provides love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteers.
-Provides a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups.
- Provides blankets to children ages 0-18 years of age. All sizes of quilts and afghans are appreciated.

Cleaning Assistant - Assist in the general cleaning and maintenance of the LUX Center. Special Events
The Nature Center sponsors several special events. These could not be presented without volunteer help. They give volunteers an opportunity to give assistance with a one-time-only commitment. Events include the Wild Adventure (April), Herb Festival (summer) Prairie Jazz Festival (August), Wild Fall Festival (September) and the Prairie Run (November).

Storm Water Awareness Program
Volunteers mark storm drains with “no dumping” emblems and distribute educational material to households.
International Coastal Cleanup
The International Coastal Cleanup program needs volunteers to help keep our local waterways clean, healthy, and safe by taking part in stream cleanups this September and October. The primary focus is to target areas in and around lakes and streams. Volunteers fill out a data card to record the amount and types of litter collected. All of the supplies needed for these cleanups are provided by KLLCB.

Sunday with a Scientist: Sunday with a Scientist is a series of presentations that highlight the work of scientists, while educating kids and families on a variety of topics related to science and natural history. Volunteers are needed to greet museum visitors and to help hand out evaluations after the event. Sundays with a Scientist typically takes place from 1:30-4:30 pm at Morrill Hall on the third Sunday of each month.

Household Goods Organizer – Truckloads of Help - We receive semi-truck loads of good each month that then need to be sorted and stored in our warehouse until we distribute them to agencies and low income clients. Volunteers are needed to help with this sorting and are welcome any time between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Food Distribution - Neighborhood Food Distribution Program Volunteers are needed to help set up, distribute food and clean-up sites when done. Distribution sites are F Street Community Center, 1225 F St, Air Park Recreation Center, 3720 NW 46th St, Malone Community Center, 2032 U St, Oak Lake Evangelical Free Church, 3300 N 1st St and The Center for People in Need, 3901 N. 27th St. Days and times vary, contact Vickie for a schedule.

Support Group Childcare - If you enjoy spending time with children, we could use your help during our Lincoln post-adoption support groups. Volunteers are needed to work with children while parents and guardianship parents of adopted children attend a support group at our facility in Lincoln. This position allows parents to attend support group and have the peace of mind their children are being well taken care of.

Boutique Help Needed - Cause for Paws is a "boutique for cheap" that turns donated, gently used women's clothing, décor, furniture and more into cash donations for local animal charities and causes. A passion for providing exceptional, personal customer service is required; those with marketing and/or retail experience are especially desired. Teen Court Volunteer- CEDARS Teen Court program is currently accepting student and adult volunteers to help during teen court sessions. Teen Court works to determine creative sentencing for adolescent youth who are on Diversion for first-time, non-violent, criminal offenses. Student volunteers are welcome, and must be at least 16 years old. Lincoln Public School "GoPo" hours are accepted. Students will act as members of the court to help determine consequences for criminal behavior. This is a fun, interesting opportunity to serve with other students, contribute to a good cause and help out fellow teenagers. All volunteers must complete a 2-hour orientation, and be available on Thurs. afternoons from 4:15-6:00pm.
